    　 こんにちは、Nisreenです。 Hi all, this is Nisreen! 先日、ようやく、本棚が我が家にやってきました。 日本からはるばる海を越えて米国まで持ってきた本たちを、段ボール箱から出して再会することができました。 The other day, we finally had some bookshelves arrive at our home.  We reunited the books we brought all the way across the ocean from Japan to the United States, finally taking them out of the cardboard boxes. 実は渡米にあたり、本の９０パーセントを泣く泣く手放してきました。特にコロナ後、日本から米国への送料がとんでもなく高くなってしまったためです。 本の中でも、巻数の多い漫画は特に送料がかかるものです。悩んだ末、手に取って何度でも眺めたいような美しい漫画、なおかつ巻数が少ないものに絞った末、手元に残った漫画は２つだけでした。本当に素敵な作品なので、ここで紹介させてください。 In fact, in coming to the US, I had to give up 90 per cent of my books.   -It brought me to tears.   This is because shipping costs from Japan to the US have become ridiculously high, especially after Covid hit. Among the books, multi-volume manga sets are particularly expensive to ship. After consideration, I let go of all my manga except two artistic works that I wanted to contemplate again and again, These had only a few volumes. Let me talk about the two masterpieces here

  　 こんにちは、Nisreenです。 Hi to all, this is Nisreen. 先日、 Purdue Contemporary Dance Companyのショーを観てき ました！私が参加しているベリーダンスのグループ、Troupe Oasisのリーダー、Deborah Kullさんが出演するので、その応援です。彼女はベリーダンス以外にコンテンポラリーダンス、そして社交ダンスでもプロとして活躍する多才なダンサーです。  The other day, I watched a show by Purdue Contemporary Dance Company. I was there to support Deborah Kull, director of the belly dance group Troupe Oasis, which I'm a part of.  She is a versatile dancer who performs professionally in contemporary and ballroom dance as well as belly dance.      私はコンテンポラリーダンスについてはあまり知識がないのですが、ショーはとっても見ごたえがありました。ショーのテーマは「水」ということで、愉快な作品もあり、強い社会的メッセージを含んだ作品もあり、刺激を受けました。 I don't know much about contemporary dance, but the show was very inspiring. The theme of the show was 'water' and it had a great range from  humorous pieces to  provocative ones with striking social messages.   　 こんにちは、Nisreenです。 Hi to all, this is Nisreen. 以前にも ブログに書きました が、私はコロナ渦の中で、New Jersey拠点のタリークスルタン先生のオンラインダンスレッスンを受け始めました。２０２０年春のことですから、もう３年以上が経ちます。 今では私は日本から米国に引っ越し、先生と同じ時間帯でレッスンを受けているのが不思議な感じです。 As I’ve written before, I started taking online dance lessons with a New Jersey-based teacher, Tarik Sultan, during the Covid lockdown. That was in spring 2020, so it's been over three years now. Since then, having moved from Japan to the US, it feels strange that I am taking lessons in the same time zone as my teacher.    もちろん、私がこれから学ぶことや改善点は 無限にあるのですが、３年以上経って実感している自分のダンスの変化について、この場で先生への感謝の気持ちを込めてシェアしたいと思います。 Of course, there are many things I’m working to learn about and improve on in the future. But I would like to share here my gratitude to the teacher for the improvements in my dance skills, after more than three years of learning with him.
