[Bilingual post] 2020 is ending 2020年の終わりに

みなさんこんにちは。オリエンタルを日々是研究、ニスリーンです。

How are you?

Well, what a year 2020 has been!

お元気ですか？2020年って、本当になんて年だったのでしょうか・・。

As a commemoration of this year of challenges, my online semi-private class students filmed themselves performing the veil piece we had been working on and received my feedback.

 The song was Jamilleh, played by John Bilezikjian. 

この大変な年を記念して、オンラインのセミプライべ-トクラスの生徒の方々にはクラスで取り組んできたベールの曲を踊るところを自身で撮影していただき、私からフィードバックを行いました。

曲はJohn Bilezikjian が演奏する、Jamillehです。

I have taught techniques and combinations they could use but did not choreograph this time so that they could improvise and express themselves freely.

テクニックやコンビネーションはお教えしましたが、即興で自由に表現が出来るようにと、今回振り付けはしませんでした。

Their joy to dance and diligent work were clearly shown in the videos.

They made a huge progress since last year!

彼女達のビデオには、踊る歓び、そして努力の跡がハッキリ見て取れました。

1年で本当に大きく進歩していました！

We have switched our class completely to online since April.

Even with this change, they have been attending lessons well and kept practicing.

I am so proud of them for their consistency as dancers.

4月から、私たちのセミプライベートクラスを完全にオンラインに切り替えていました。

その後でも、生徒の方々はレッスンも練習も休むことがほとんどありませんでした。

生徒の方々の一貫した姿勢に本当に感心しました。

2021 is still behind the veil.

One of my new year's resolution is to keep being sincere to my dance persona--sincere enough to keep inspiring the serious students.

The saying --We learn by teaching-- is so true.

2021年に何が待ち受けているのか、まだわかりません。

でも私も、真剣な生徒の方に良い刺激を与え続けられるように、自分の踊りに真摯に向き合っていきたい、という願いは、

新年の抱負の１つとして挙げることができます。

教えていると、教わることが本当に多いと思います。

I wish you peace and safety- especially to those of you who are in the front line.

Also please remember, we have achieved a great deal by surviving this year, even if you feel like you have not been able to do much.

皆さんの日々が平穏であることを祈っています。特に最前線で大変な思いをされている方のことを思います。

そしてこれも大事なことだと思います。もしも、今年はあまり沢山のことが出来なかった、と感じられていたとしても、今年を生き延びたというだけでも、充分凄いことを成し遂げています。
